Making Perfect Milk for Coffee

Preparing milk is easy with this jug and will get easier with practice. There are some simple steps to help you create the best textured milk every time with your espresso machine. Firstly you should begin by purging the steam wand to remove any water present in a steam wand. The correct starting position for the wand tip is deep within the centre of the body of liquid. This will help start a vortex within the jug. Once you have this vortex of milk swirling around the jug you can then lower the jug to bring the tip of the steam wand to just under the surface of the liquid. This will introduce more air into the milk and stretch the milk. Once you have introduced the desired amount of air you can lower the tip of the steam wand deeper into the milk continuing the vortex. The movement of the wand deeper into the milk reduces the amount of air introduced but continues to heat. This movement also creates the micro-texture and the ability to “polish” the glossy milk as you now finish the heating by turning off the steam wand.
